About Us

Rye Hill Barn was established in the year 2000 as one of the original Barn conversions used as a Venue for Celebrations and is still a beautifully relaxed & rustic wedding venue, set in the grounds of a 400 acre working farm. Situated amongst the rolling Wiltshire Downs in an area of outstanding natural beauty. 20 miles from Salisbury; 25 miles from Bath easy access to the M4 and A303. Main line train stations at Westbury and Warminster to London. See map.

The 100ft long 18th Century oak beamed Barn, can accommodate up to 150 guests seated, with sufficient space for an additional 50 evening guests. Cloakroom facilities are within the Barn and incorporate one for less able guests.

The Barn has white washed walls, fairy lights & voile drapes for a neutral backdrop and may be ‘styled’ to create your perfect vision. Access is available the day before for your convenience. Within the Barn there is a bar service area with counter tops, sink, fridge and plenty of power sockets. This can be stocked by you with NO CORKAGE CHARGE, or alternatively a cash bar can be arranged. Reception drinks may be served in the glorious Orchard on a fine day, in the Original Cart House, or the Garden behind the Barn, all offering fantastic photo opportunities.


You may choose to hold your Wedding Ceremony at Rye Hill Barn, at no additional costs, either in the Orchard, the Original Cart House or Barn itself. You can use the services of a Wedding Celebrant or family member, having obtained the official documentation at a Registry Office of your choice. Then to all intents and purpose your guests will think the Ceremony the ‘real thing’.

Catering can be provided by our caterers, Celebration Caterers or your own preferred caterer, utilising the kitchen facilities which have stainless steel tabling, washing up facilities and refrigeration.

There is ample parking on site and cars may be left overnight and removed the following day. Additional services may be provided if required by our recommended suppliers or you are more than welcome to source your own!

Venue Hire is with access on Friday 12noon till 5pm, the day of the Wedding with last orders at 11.30pm and ‘Carriages’ by 12 midnight, Sunday morning to reminisce and remove personal possessions until 12noon.

The price includes Room Hire, the use of tables and chairs, bar area, Orchard, Original Cart House, kitchen facilities, cloakrooms, heating when necessary, fire pit and car parking. Hire of alternative chairs, additional tables, straw bales or marquee extensions can be arranged on your behalf.

An onsite Event Co-ordinator will always be available to assist as much or as little as you require to ensure the smooth running of the whole Event allowing you to feel like a Guest at your own party!


Celebrate a ‘Special Anniversary’ your way. Dinner and dancing for up to 120, Hog Roast & Disco, Hot Air Ballooning & Picnics – the World is your Oyster!

A ‘One-Stop-Shop’ for the ‘Naming Ceremony’ in a non-religious setting, using the services of a Celebrant, Family Member or Friend. Then enjoy plenty of space inside and out in the gardens to self-cater or indulge in Afternoon Tea, created by our Caterers.

Celebrate a ‘Special Birthday’, be it a 21st or a 101st, Rye Hill Barn has plenty of options. Relaxed Afternoon Tea, Formal Dinner or a Fun Disco & Hog Roast.

With the Barn being 100ft long and 20ft wide it lends itself to a great Ceilidh or Barn Dance, which everyone can enjoy whilst raising money for your chosen Charity. ‘Horse Race Night’ with projection onto a vast wall for all to see, whilst sitting comfortably at table. Murder Mystery Dinners for up to 150 guests. Catering may be arranged or folk can bring their own picnic and drinks. Craft Fairs and Sales have been set up and with refreshment tables and kitchen facilities have been able to raise even more pennies. With plenty of power points for Stallholders, everyone is happy!

With the Barn being 100ft long and 20ft wide, there is plenty of clear space and walls to hang items and five characterful beamed alcoves to create your unique displays. Vehicles of a certain size and unusually large objects could sit comfortably inside and out of the Barn.

We are able to hold Humanist Funeral Ceremonies and Memorial Services at Rye Hill Barn incorporating a Refreshment Package, all within one relaxed location, with no time restraints and facilities to make it totally personal for up to 200 Guests.

Non-religious services are on the increase and families want to hold personal and meaningful 'Celebrations of Life', which they not only help to plan, but also participate in as well. We believe that working with local Funeral Directors and fully accredited Celebrants, we will deliver the Ceremonies families require.

Venue Hire

Weddings 3 day hire for set up; event day and break down.12noon - 5pm set up da: up until midnight day of the Wedding; until 12noon following day.

November – March £3,000 | APRIL – OCTOBER £3,500
The price includes Room Hire, the use of our Tables and Chairs, Cake Table, Bar area, Orchard, Barn Garden, Cart House, Kitchen facilities, Heating when necessary, Fire pit, Rattan Chill Out Furniture and Car parking. Hire of alternative chairs, additional tables, strawbales or marquee extensions can be arranged on your behalf.

Wedding Packages to include all of the above, can be created for you to includecatering, drinks, all equipment and staffing. Please telephone to discuss your differentoptions.

Celebrations - 8 hour hire for lunch time or evening, all year £1,000.00 The price includes Room Hire, the use of tables and chairs, Bar area, Kitchen facilities carparking

Funerals – ½ day hire £500.00 The price includes Room Hire, the use of Tables and Chairs, Bar area, Kitchen facilities, Carparking

Exhibitions & Charity Events p.o.a.

An onsite Event Coordinator will always to available to assist as much or as little as you like to ensure the smooth running of the day and set up. This is complimentary service unless using an alternative caterer to our 'In house Celebration Caterers' in which case a charge of £250.00 will be made to cover Housekeeping and Security.

A 50% deposit is respectfully requested to secure the booking with balance of payment due 1 month out from the date of the Event.

With Longleat Safari Park on our door step there are plenty of B&B’s to explore! Unfortunately as a working farm we cannot allow camping, but Botany Camping will welcome you with open arms.
